The benefit for DaveA at the Legion, Sunday, August 13 was memorable on many levels.
There was an outstanding turnout with 40 people in the first blind draw and 26 in the second. The soft-tip community was represented with many who do not normally play steel-tip attending the event. Their participation was greatly appreciated.
Many people opened their pocketbooks to help Dave and Cheryl. The total donations were more than 3 times the total contributed through entry fees. The feeling that swept the room when Cheryl made her round of hugs can only be described as "total pride and love".
Dave is progressing well. Doctors want to keep him in rehab until he's on his feet and walking, which could be any day now.
Last Sunday was a day of nothing but good news.

I was out "fishin" Sunday and was unable to attend due to getting "rained in" Sunday morning. Any avenues open for making donations after the fact?
To remain anonymous, which is probably your hope, I'd just drop by the Legion and write "Donation to DaveA" on an envelope, and slip the envelope under the office door with the donation enclosed.
You could give a donation to any bartender. They are all honest people and will see that it gets to where you intend it to go.
